INSTALLATION JANUARY 2026
At its foundation is a rammed earth base, grounding the sculpture in the landscape and symbolizing stability. From the natural base rises a geometric grid of Ipe wood, chosen for its durability and rich organic character.
The open-lattice structure represents the interwoven nature of Orlando -that we are connected and support on another.
Subtle variation in color throughout the grid express the diversity of the community. Internal lighting brings the sculpture to life at night, casting a warm glow from within.
Architectural in presence and symbolic in meaning.

The sculpture’s open lattice grid is structurally stable due to its modular interlocking design, which distributes weight and external forces evenly throughout the framework.
The lattice design reinforces the sculpture’s strength in multiple directions. The design minimizes shear and torsion while providing rigidity and durability.
The use of Ipe enhances the structural performance, as the species is known for its natural strength, weather resistance, and dimensional stability.
